Due to a large number of requests, the Global Summit on Disinformation has decided to extend the deadline to present fact-checking projects until next Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. (Bolivia UTC -4 time). To date, more than 30 candidates from different countries have applied.
The Global Summit on Disinformation, organized by the Inter-American Press Association, the Foundation for Journalism (Bolivia), and Proyecto Desconfío (Argentina), summons specialized media in the fight against disinformation and fact-checkers to participate in the PRESENTATION ROUND OF INNOVATION PROJECTS in fact-checking. The media and/or platforms that wish to share a success story, a project in progress, or a technological development that has made it possible to improve the work in detecting and combating pieces of disinformation are invited to apply for their initiatives.
This special segment of the Global Summit on Disinformation is sponsored by the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) and is led by the Bolivia Verifica (Bolivia) and Info-Veritas (Spain) teams, who will be in charge of selecting the Projects.

The third edition of the Global Summit on Disinformation is intended especially for journalists, researchers, academics, fact-checkers, the media, government officials, civil society organizations, professors, and students interested in the subject. The activity will be online and free of charge with prior registration in this form.
The event is supported by the Google News Initiative, the International Fact-Checking Network, the United States Embassy in Argentina, the United Nations Argentina, and BancoSol of Bolivia.
